Smith’s CT-8 Cleaner & Toughener is a dual purpose product designed for the preparation of exterior textured concrete surfaces to receive Smith’s Decorative Concrete Products including Smith’s Color Floor., Color Wall and Color Accents.  Initially, Smith’s CT-8 acts as a detergent to clean the concrete surface.  Secondly, Smith’s CT-8 toughens the surface of the concrete by interacting with weak spots created by un-reacted calcium hydroxide. 

On interior concrete slabs, Smith’s CT-8 is a high alkalinity powder used for heavy-duty degreasing as well as for neutralizing treatment to raise low pH levels on concrete substrates, such as battery charging areas, etc.  Secondly, Smith’s CT-8 toughens the surface of the concrete by interacting with weak spots created by un-reacted calcium hydroxide, to reduce surface dusting.
